I started knitting the Cable Lux Tunic, which was a free download for a KAL.  It wasn’t until I had this much done that I found out that there is a mistake in the yoke cable strip, well quite a few mistakes within the the whole pattern according to the KAL group on Ravelry.  Since I had about 12″ done and I wasn’t going to rip it out I decided that it can stay, because I’ve seen the un-mistake cables and really don’t like them anyway.  I found that my gauge is a little off but it’s alright because I’ve read on Rav that this yarn tends to grow.  I also decided that I will make this one into a cardi, I seen some really nice pictures of it that way and think I will use it more in that fashion.  My issue will be how to knit it in the round, the button bands garter or rib, cuffs or no cuffs and pockets, because I just cant see a cardi with no pockets.

I finished the Tomten, after it was on time out, too many garter stitch ridges had be seeing double.  But really the pattern is easy and once you get over the initial shock it’s a quick knit.  I bought a zipper for it but I got one that doesn’t separate duh!  I was so annoyed at myself because I realized it after I had it pinned and ready to sew, LOL.. Oh well we just get another one.  Here he is, just too cute  I can’t wait to see a pic of J in it.

Since I had Tom on time out I also knitted a skull cap for the DD’s BF in pure gator colors he attends UF.  It’s a wonderful pattern and very easy to follow, I highly recommend this knit if you have a modern guy in your circle that could use a great hat.

I also cast on for the KAL at Lion Brand Yarn of the Cable Lux Tunic I started last nite and already had to frog it, I need to write out the pattern in order to keep it straight in my mind, loads of twists and cables and just interesting knitting but I was watching the movie Wanted while I was knitting and that was not a good idea.  I’ll be using Wool Ease in Chestnut Heather, I love this color and it was a steal at Joann’s only $ 2.99 a ball with a 50% coupon I got 8 balls for under $ 12.00 buck, I was a really happy puppy on Saturday!

Let the Season Begin!

I love Christmas, and nothing in my house herald’s in the season unlike the smell of pine from the tree, the cinnamon scented pine cones and the installation of my Christmas Village. It takes me two days to complete and only one month to enjoy but it’s always worth the work.
